Project Overview
Murad Apparels Ltd required a comprehensive Lightning Protection System to safeguard its factory building, electrical infrastructure, and personnel from lightning-induced hazards. The project was undertaken in accordance with recognized standards to minimize risks of fire, equipment damage, and operational interruption.

Scope of Work
- Detailed site inspection and lightning risk assessment
- Engineering design of LPS layout based on building geometry
- Installation of air terminals (arresters), down conductors, and earthing system with earth pits.
- Bonding of metallic elements (roof structures, services, and exposed metal parts)
- Measurement and verification of earth resistance
- Final inspection, testing, and safety compliance confirmation<

Engineering Approach
The Lightning Protection System (LPS) was executed in full compliance with NFPA 780, IEC 62305, and BNBC 2020 standards. Air terminals and down conductors were installed to provide optimal strike interception and low-impedance current paths, with secure mechanical terminations to ensure electrical continuity. The earthing system was designed, installed, and verified to achieve target earth resistance values, ensuring effective dissipation of lightning currents and proper equipotential bonding across all metallic structures

Project Outcome
- Reliable protection against direct and indirect lightning strikes
- Reduced risk of fire and electrical equipment damage
- Improved safety for personnel and operations
- Compliance-ready installation suitable for regulatory and buyer audits
- Long-term operational reliability with measurable earthing performance
